What was the Hamsa: Campus Equity Initiative?
The Hamsa: Campus Equity Initiative is WISCOMP’s innovative pan-India project engaging with issues of access, gender equity and justice in higher educational spaces (HEIs). As part of the project, WISCOMP conducted workshops for educators and administrators in HEIs across India who are committed to making their campuses just and inclusive. Log-in Gender was envisioned as an integral component of Hamsa as a virtual platform for educators and students across India to share and learn from each other’s experiences engendering HEIs.

Log-in Gender provides access to gender justice resources and networks and is a platform for transformative dialogues.
What does our logo mean?
In Indic Iconography, the Hamsa or the Cosmic Swan carries a special significance and is reflective of a transformative consciousness. It is the vehicle of the Goddess of Knowledge. The Hamsa symbolizes the power of discernment and this makes the Hamsa particularly significant for knowledge. The Hamsa is also a talismanic symbol in diverse cultures from across West Asia and the Middle East.
