Hey,
After reading this question I did a little bit of research, I have gone through an article on education published in “The better India ” in which I found evolutionary Educationists, 2018: Brilliant Indians Reshaping The Face of Education. There I read about many but there was only one lady who dragged my attention with whose work I got inspired her name is Safeena Husain, Educate Girls .
Safeena Husain’s name is synonymous with successful education models in India, especially in rural areas, thanks to the spectacular work she has done through ‘Educate Girls’ – founded in 2007.
Though there are many who worked in this sphere but as girls education is subject close to my heart being a girl so safeena Hussain was one person with whom I literally got attracted.
When it comes to Higher Education for women in Kashmir, there is one name that everyone will refer to – that of Ms Mehmooda Ahmad Ali Shah who served as the Principal of Women’s College, Maulana Azad Road, Srinagar. She was like a role model for thousands of girls who graduated from the college in 1960s and 1970s. She imbibed the spirit of independent and self-confident women and introduced the young women to the world of ‘feminism’ and ‘socialism’ by making small, subtle remarks about the patriarchy, exploitation, capitalism in day to day life.
